SCHOOL HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES During these uncertain times, people are looking for things to do and hobbies to take up that don’t require you to leave the front door! Music is playing a major key in helping people connect responsibly. Our Autumn School Holiday Workshop for Adults + Kids had to be cancelled this year. The workshops are always a hit with students and we wanted to give our students, their families and supporters something to do during these times so we decided to run our programmes online. Giuseppe Zangari - Sydney Guitar School Online. Due to the current health crisis, Sydney Guitar School has moved all lessons and classes, including ensemble classes and music theory/musicianship classes online. INNOVATION In the climate of today, many instrumental teachers have had to adapt and re-think their mode of delivery, so that students can still receive their weekly fix of musical instruction and the teacher can still make their livelihood much more viable in these uncertain times - It's a testing time for all. At Sydney Guitar School all our teachers were faced with learning the necessary skills, within a very limited timeframe to make the jump to online. For several weeks, I was testing, trialing and refining the methods of delivery at the guitar school, in the event that we had to close face-to-face instruction. With the support of my amazing team at SGS and the awesome students, we were able to innovate our way of delivering not only our one-to-one lessons, but were able to continue to offer our traditional and popular guitar ensemble classes and music theory/musicianship classes. Guitar ensemble online one might say? Yes, they are going great online - whilst the traditional way of ensemble; where all students play together and hear everyone together doesn't happen online, we have come up with other ways where students can still participate and enjoy the ensemble experience, enjoy the music they love playing, get their technical fix and also continue the great sense of community that all SGS have enjoyed over the past 6 years since we have been delivering classes! ONLINE PLATFORMS FOR SYDNEY GUITAR SCHOOL We are using the online platform called Zoom to deliver all our classes (Skype and Facetime can also be used). There are pros and cons to any technology, but there are many functions and features with Zoom that allow the teacher to make the classes more interactive. We have also re-designed all our classes through the Sydney Guitar School Online learning platform, a digital interface, which makes all our content of ensemble and theory classes accessible to anyone 24/7! It's almost like a 24 hour gym - people want to have their fix of guitar around the clock and the guitar school is available this way! All the material is there - the music, the sound recordings and practice recordings and technical work. ENHANCE YOUR PLAYING WITH PERFORMANCE PRACTICE SEMINAR (PPS) Sydney Guitar School Online is now offering Performance Practice Seminar for all it's enrolled students. You are invited to our new online Performance Practice Seminar. Tuesday evenings 6:30pm-7:30pm, the next session being Tuesday 21 April. You are welcome to participate and or watch our live sessions.
